NEWSLETTER February 2021 MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL Renewed hopes, major challenges, creative paths and new opportunities – that is how I will define the start of 2021. In addition to being thoroughly heartened at the return of more than two-thirds of our students/ staff on campus, I am also thankful for: Students following SOPs, even when it is hard to do so. I know it is too much to expect wearing masks for 8 hours and continue to concentrate. But you are all doing great and remember in these unprecedented and difficult times, only [...]
This week, AIS students are celebrating Book Week and their love for reading! Some of our students posed with a few of their favorite titles!
NEWSLETTER December 2020 MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL Thank you very much for your continued support and understanding, through these uncertain times. The best thing that has happened this term has been the transition of classes from virtual to campus. Though only a partial number of students have returned, it is very heartening and motivating to see classrooms, corridors and fields buzzing with noise, laughter and games. This is just what we need to work harder! During this term, I have observed little EC children attending Zoom assemblies and wanting to share screen with their [...]
NEWSLETTER October 2020 MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL Today, October 5th is International Teachers Day. On this day, we celebrate not only teachers who are in the classroom, but also the entire AIS staff who are outside the classroom and rendering every help, so that teachers can teach in the class and keep the campus safe and clean. Every year, we have received great support from parents, who have left motivating notes on our boards and brought delicious snacks for staff members. This year, the pandemic has changed how we live, think and function. Therefore, [...]
NEWSLETTER August 2020 MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL A new academic year, new chapters, new circumstances. There are many uncertainties, but what I can say with certainty is that we are starting a new academic year on August 24, 2020. In keeping with government directives, our campus will remain closed, but we will continue to execute our online programme – new and improved. The pandemic is closer to our reality than before, and today, more than ever, we need to prove our mettle, and uphold the resilience we have displayed, as individuals and as a [...]
NEWSLETTER July 2020 MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL ‘Teamwork makes a dream work’, I am a believer of this adage, now more than ever! In March 2020, we were faced with a situation that affected us globally, regionally, and as a school community, just in different amplitudes. Today, as I have ridden the wave, I know the only thing that kept us sailing successfully was our community spirit, the trust every AIS parent instilled in us, the love of every student for their school, the Directors’ conviction and faith, my hardworking teaching and nonteaching staff, [...]
NEWSLETTER May 2020 MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL Dear AIS Family, Hope you are all safe and healthy. We receive an overload of solicited (and unsolicited) information regarding the pandemic, so I will save us all the trouble and stick with AIS News (and there is plenty, on that front!) This newsletter will focus only on AIS, our students, parents and staff. To begin with: A big thank you to AIS Teachers and Staff for being positive, listeners, accomodative, taking criticism in your stride, hardworking, lifelong learners and inspiring. I am grateful to [...]
