Year 7 (11 years) – Year 8 (13 years):

Acorns International School is under the Interested Phase for applying to be a candidate school for International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. We are offering Year 7 and Year 8 at this time and will continue to offer higher grades as they promote to next level to offer higher grades up to the IB Diploma Programme.
The MYP is:

  • for students aged 11 to 16
  • a framework of academic challenge
  • Eight subject groups, plus community project at the end of third year of Secondary and personal project in the fifth and final year of Secondary
  • The MYP encourages students to:
    • understand the connections between subjects through interdisciplinary learning
    • understand the connections between subjects and the real world
    • become critical and reflective thinkers

As in PYP, students will continue to drive their learning through units of inquiry but have more focus on individual subject groups.  At this stage, the curriculum becomes interdisciplinary as individual subject groups show how they work individually and together depending on the problem being
